Katie, you can forward those to me!!!

Sweet pics guys. I am very jealous. One of these days (when I have a bit of income) I need to make it to a race like this. I know if there were multiple people wearing earplugs it must have been good.

Why is the shot from so low on that one?

Oh yeah, how else would you get Brian, Hale and Todd in the same shot without being 100 ft. away?

Hey kids, here's the pilaf recipe:

1 cup Orzo (small lil pasta thingys)
1-2 handfuls crushed vermicelli
1 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, diced
3 cups chicken broth (or 2 cups broth, 1 cup wine) (homemade broth makes the best pilaf)
3 T olive oil
1/2 stick butter
thyme
salt
pepper

Heat oil and butter in a large low saucepan. Saute onions and garlic till clear over medium heat, about 5 minutes, stirring often. Add orzo and vermicelli, saute 5 more minutes, stirring often. Add broth, thyme, salt, & pepper, bring to a boil, cover, turn to LOW heat, and simmer for about 30 minutes, checking about halfway through. When the moisture is absorbed, remove from heat, stir and cover, let it sit about 5 more mins.

You can vary this too: use rice instead of vermicelli, add seasoned diced tomatoes (canned), saute red bell peppers with the onions, throw cooked diced ham/chicken/pork/shrimp in there about 1/2 way thru, etc.

It's teh easy.

Beer bread recipe:

3 Tablespoons sugar
1 12 oz. bottle of any beer

mash it together preferably by hand and then slap the resulting lump of gooeyness into a bread pan. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 35 - 45 minutes. Should be golden brown on top. Enjoy.
