I really hate how they use the term "all new" for a reengineered product... seems to be false advertising on some level.

I'm not picking on the car, I just don't like advertising that blatantly lies to me.

i read thru alittle more and they out the color changing instrument cluster from the 05 mustang. i think they stopped putting that in the mustangs cuz it was malfuntioning. hopefully they worked that out on this.

it's an al new LOOK :p ;P
Oddly enough, to the average consumer, that's about all it takes.

I spotted a Pontiac G5 the other day for the first time... good to know that GM is still satisfied with merely changing the badges... I guess Ford is still a little better than that.

ok, they didn't change the appearance that most folks hate, but did I miss something in the earlier press releases? it looks like weight reductions are now 100lbs lighter instead of 70, power for the non-PZEV d20 is up from 136 to 140, brake calipers are aluminum and rear staybilizer bars are back as optional equipment.

still no rear discs and the "front fender appliqué" remains. but how many vendors will soon offer some kind of replacement body-color or carbonfiber piece?

the look is half the purchace or me as well. i don't think i'm uninformed completely when it comes to purchaces on any level (well, maybe socks and paperclips) but i need something that i will buy for whatever amount and think "i love this car".

handling, acceleration, interior, creature comforts AND the exterior styling. damnsed stright. i'd rather have a 10 year old car that i feel like that abount than buying a new car that when i get into it i feel like an ******* and hate the car. i just can't do it and nor will i do it.

but yeah, buying solely on looks is just stupid.

but that IS THE POINT OF THIS REDESIGN:

the 05-07 Focus was merely OK for most people .. people saw it and went "meh" .. they did not care .. so they bought it for the other stuff (features, price etc), but never really LOVED the car ..

Ford just bet the farm, that this unique/weird/different look will make some people fall head over heels for it .. and while some people will hate it , that does not matter .. because those that will buy it will love it .. of course, then the trap is how many will actually like it .. and we will only see that once the car begins selling.

100lbs lighter and more hp sound good to me. Althought I think they just put a less restrictive air filter and then retuned for just a slightly leaner mode. I'm suprised that they have added a RSB option back again. Hopefully they will FINALLY add a rear disc option, but then again, this is their cheap price point and having a performing car at a cheap price point is not their goal.
