Witch is the right path for someone to start modifing the focus?
1. cai
2. cat back
3. header(short,racing,flex pipe)
4. cat
5. puley-s
6. mass air flow 70mm
7. throtle body 65mm
8. fuel presure regulator
9. compressor-turbo-cams(fuel rail,injektors,head work in case)
10. adjustable cam gears
11. nitrous
Think this would be nice for most new in the sport

Actually #5 can go where it pleases since it has nothing to do with the rest, but if your going to do it, keep it #5, or move it to #1. The other 4 compliment each other.

OH and that's a good path for Bolt on performance, but there are other paths some people take:

1. Turbo
2. Exhaust
3. Forghettaboutit

Don't forget to upgrade the flex-pipe at the same time you do the catback. it goes between the "Catback" and the cat. Failure to improve that somewhat nullifies the benefits of a different catback anyway.
Also, exhaust size matters. Turbo, or N/A makes a big difference. So does the extent of headwork, etc.
For N/A Zetecs w/ bolt-ons, go w/ 2.25".
For Turbo (Or other Forced Induction), look at 2.5" or larger.
While not adding too much actual Hp, a good chip can really alter the curves to increase the overall performance of the engine.

I read somewhere here that you should work from the outsides in when doing an engine -- which makes sense in my little world -- so I would...

1, 2, 6, 4, 3 (then tb, new intake manifold (should be some options by the time I get there
), cams / gears, followed by head work (w/injectors, maf and chip))

where 6 is a flex-pipe to match the width of your exhaust. Also, since 5 is outside of the scope of outsides in, could be anywhere...

I like the Throttle body, headers, first. The throttle body not only frees up the air flow, but provides much better throttle response. Don't underestimate the advantages of the "feel" of a car vs just the power numbers.

It is for this reason, I would truly look at suspension first, and then look at the power mods, but leaning towards those mods, that will do more than just add power. But either lighten the car a little or add some more responsiveness.

Well, be carefull when you are ordering from US, because Euro Foci (SportTrend) is different from US one (ZX3) at some points. Even with pulleys, you need a different sized belt than the one that comes from US...

Catback tips cause problems (ZX3 bumper longer) etc. etc...

I had most of my parts built up here...That seems easier. For instance you can order the mufflers and have the rest of your exhaust system built up at a local shop...

I've GOT to play nice and explain this to you.
You have a little mis-spelling in #10 that makes a reference to a certain "substance" that has nothing to do with cars, and alot to do w/ human reproduction. (In slang).
It's supposed to be CAM gears.....

Sorry guys, I had to tell him.

BTW, Welcome to Focaljet!!!
