Must be hard to sell something that highly modified. Especially since it isn't emissions-legal.

That is Rocspo's car. One of a few people who has dumped much more money than I have into their SVT. This car hit 500HP at one time. Marcy did the work on the engine, the turbo manifold is from FastraxTurbo's people (which is why it looks much like his). This thing is so beautiful!!!

Great car, not very realistic power, but great car.

The turbo is a big turbo though, turning the boost down isn't going to give you torque. That turbo is a late spooler, you'd need nitrous to get it going in the low end. Not to discount the car, but it's either a drag setup, or a dyno queen. It would not be fun on the street.

How is it emissions-legal? I can't see that thing making it through the door of any smog shop in California.

LOL! That's what YOU think! I'd piss myself laughing every time I drove that car!

Thats what I KNOW.

It wont spool till at least 5K. Yes it would be hellish fun once you got into the power band but it would lag like crazy in the mid-range. I've seen the dyno's. I even took a ride in it a while back but it wasn't runnign to well at that time. Ask Lourenco how fun his is for daily driving. He has a very similar turbo.

Okay then.... new turbo time. I'll make it a running monster.  Not that I can afford that much for a used focus.

Just remember he ran a 14.1 in the quarter.

JRSC cars can run that or close to it. That should tell you it's off the line ability.

Dont get me wrong, I love the car, just be realistic about what it is. I have no dillusions that my car is going to win an HP contest, nor will it beat a good drag car, but for day to day use, I'd take my power curve over this one any day.

Well that car is already sold. There is one bid for 15K and there is no message saying "reserve has not been met" so he's letting it go for as little as 15K which is a DEAL!!!!. That doesn't cover but maybe 2/3 of the cost of the upgrades alone.

yeah i saw that. maybe he had a terrible launch or the motor blew up 3 seconds after the launch and he coasted over it at a 14.1

Seriously.. have you driven a car with an oversized turbo on it? They aren't that fast, and wont feel fast till about 3rd or 4th, when the gearing is big enough to make use of such a small powerband.

It pulls harder in third gear than

most cars do in first! I've never run it hard at the track, but with a gentle

start, (no burnout or clutch torture), it's run mid 13s at 117 mph! The ET isn't so

impressive, but 117 mph sure is. With a good launch, it should run low 12s
i think he explains what the car can do, it is all driver and i think babying the car helped out the higher time. Plus, that is a BAD ASS car.

how did shelby say it? if u got turbo lag then ur not drivin it right.
Wow that is a really un-intelligent statement

Lets just look at this from an "intelligent" point of view.

The SVT's redline is 7200. Depending on gearing when switching gears (even at redline) you will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 4500 to 5000 RPM's.

If the turbo doesn't fully spool till 5000 or 5500 RPM's you WILL Have lag. No amount of driving will save you from it. I'm not saying this turbo spools up that late but there will definately be lag.

The car is amazing, (as I said in my first post) but the turbo is too big for daily driving.

you can say dumb... i wont cry ;)
but yeah with my limited knowledge of how turbos work, i can see where you're coming from.
I would think that it is really a blessing in disguise though. I def wouldnt want to have to worry about 200+ hp breaking loose the tires if i tap the throttle from a stop in the mcd's drive through. (then again this is cuz im too lazy to actually learn how to drive and from the fact that ive only ever driven one turbo'd car:screwy: )
