I was wondering if anyone that has this part experienced this problem.
When I first put on the TB, somehow the TPS broke and with some quick fixing, my friend Demonfire was able to salvage it until a new TPS arrived. While I was waiting, the car ran and idled fine, but I didnt trust the frankenstein TPS so I didnt drive the car hard. So I get the new TPS and install it and now the car is really running oddly. On cold startup, the car will generally spike at 3k and stay there until warm up. From there warm idle is around 1150 RPM. The biggest problem I'm getting is the throttle hang. I will get off the gas, push in the clutch, and the revs will increase up to 500 more than I was at under load. And when Im breaking to a stop, the car will often hold the RPM until a dead stop. Picture 3k at almost a dead stop and then plumiting down to idle. Not fun.
I just adjusted the idle screw and that helped, but still gettigna lot of hang. Though it might be an air leak, but I reassembled it 3 times already. Does anyone have an idea? How about the part number for the TPS. I may have gotten a bad one or not the right one. Thanks.
**EDIT**
Ok after putting on the old sensor, she ran like a dream again. No high idle and no hang ups, but I am still left with a frankenstein sensor. Now here is something that someone could help me with...find a new sensor.
Stock sensor number (as appears on sensor):
988F 9B989
BB 2K07A
Other motorcraft sensor I got from the parts dealer in my town:
988F 9B989
BB 3J16C
Numbers on motorcraft box:
ONE
DY-871
YS4Z-9B989-BB
Potentiometer (TPS)
B969F 012004
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
