What happened to the top gear episodes on discovery?

They were a toyed with mish mash that for some reason after pretty good ratings Discovery and BBC pulled the plug on. But this is much better so who cares hehe.

The only thing is especially since Top Gear has now shot in full 1080p it would have been nice to see those episodes on Discovery HD.

Currently, the only way to view Top Gear over on this side of the pond is via BBC World which airs “special” 30 minute versions of the show (chopped up, no guest host, no news, little or no studio bits, etc.).

Well, starting August 20th at 8PM ET, season 8 of Top Gear will begin airing on BBC America in what will probably be full format shows. Based on the schedule listed at the official site, each episode will air for an hour each and feature the star in a reasonably priced car.

Regardless of whether it will be a chopped up version or not though, this only further the exposure of Top Gear here in the States which definitely isn’t a bad thing. Let’s hope this all leads to us getting a Top Gear of our own…

First double check your satellite or Cable service, usually its there already, most people just don't notice it. If not then call your service provider and ask for it.

Well the Last episode of Top Gear was the first to be aired in Full HD, previously they were all Digital Widescreen (why does this feel familiar ). But yes, HD would be much better as BBCA isn't available in HD yet.

 

Maybe this can help clue the general American public into what cars they get oversees, that we don't get here. *Cough* Focus ST *Cough*

i wonder how much it would cost to get EVERY channel cablevision offers. Don't they have several thousand stations at this point. :lol: I always see the adds for "cablevision international" where they have channels from around the world in almost every language you can think of.

 

This would be great if Comcast didn't suck and I could actually get BBC America.

 

Time to drop my crappy cable company and get satellite!!

 

I am checking my stations when I get home after work! I think I have BBC, but never watched it before.

 

I have BBC on the Dish but when I pulled it up it says "we hope you are enjoying your free preview of BBC".

Program guide didn't go as far as August 20th so I'll have to wait a few days to see if Top Gear is listed.
