actually no. he says it's by far better then the DB9 but it's not as fast as the vanquish or as hardcore as a ferrari.

to be clear, i have no hate for Clarkson or Top Gear. I watch regularly and am a HUGE fan. But their love for all things British and hate for anything....well.... NOT British (esp US) just lead me to believe their conclusion of the car would be resoundingly positive REGARDLESS of the vehicle's results.

^^^I agree. I thought it would be the same deal with this car but fortunatly he wasn't biased.

I think they knowingly say such pro-british and anti-american things with a tongue-in-cheek mentality. I remember one show where they came to the states and were talking about their jealously of our nice long open roads and such. Its all in good fun. Top Gear is the best thing on tv IMHO.

Clearly you don't watch TopGear.

Have you not noticed the trend that TG loves Ford products? Or the fact the Clarkson owned a Ford GT?

They share the same distaste of the same American automotive products that we do, and praise the good American automotive products that we like.

I like the DBS, but then I'm a fan of Grand Touring cars (as is Clarkson).

They praise Euro-Fords, check out the stupid clip of them testing the GT-500, the idiots dynoed it and whined and cried that the WHP number didn't match the published BHP numbers.
Clarkson owned a Ford GT and he kept complaining about how it was always broken he finally got rid of it in disgust and now owns a Lambo.

So...I hate American cars too (except muscle) so am I evil? Besides...he's biased for a good reason, American cars suck, and British cars are far superior!!!

well you have to understand this is a british show. thats what the british people want to hear. have you ever seen clarksons thing around the world or whatever it was called. he goes to a bunch of countries and talks about their cars in a positive light. yes even USA.

I love Top Gear, and I always get a kick of Clarkson, whether or not I agree with him is of no matter......

at least he says things.......not the droning canned crap of a C&D T.V., any Motor Trend show, or worst of all, Motorweek with the 50's game show host that must be a cyborg to sound like that.....and even better the "opinions" shared by others on the show reading their cue cards with cringe-worthy "inflection".

That said, there are some fun "questions" Top Gear always raises......like the DBS's lap times being curiously quick for its specs. or the fact that somehow an XJ220 pulls away from a Zonda during a roll-on drag, the aforementioned needless dig on a GT500's power...............hmmmmm.

as fore the US / British thing........it rules.......their Alabama trip plus Stig's fatass "american cousin" was perfect.

anyhow........always fun.

I've always got a kick out of Top Gear. They're opinions matter little as its always quite hilarious regardless of what they're actually presenting or doing. Personally I loved the American fat Stig. That was too darn funny!

Oh, clearly, since I seem to have developed an opinion on the series outside that of the populus of [FJ]

Look, guys, I watch the show and love it just as much as the next guy. It's the only car show my non-car enthusiast relatives and friends will watch with me just because it's so entertaining. I love the humor, and most importantly, I love their willingness to express their opinion regardless of criticism. I don't always agree with them (how the rules work for their 'cool/uncool' wall i'll NEVER understand), but hey, that's just me.

And like I said before, I KNOW the British vs Everyone Else thing is mostly tongue-in-cheek and really just them showing their patriotism same as we Americans do constantly. I'm not offended by it, just a little tired of how it always seems anything UK on their show seems to automatically have a leg up. But hey, they're British. Would you expect anything less?
