i hope not cause then toyota will just make the wrx sti super expensive @ $50k with 350hp awd
then.....
when nobody wants to but it anymore then the'll just kill it
like the supera, mr2, & celica, (all of which were over priced with little HP:thumbdown) like the new supera "starting" @ HIGH 30k for the 300bhp then the 400bhp v8 @ like High 40k i would rather get a vette.
...if its the case i hope they become the parent company, but have no "say so":(, this would be very bad:mad:
on the flip side the style aka "look" would be a little better:lol:

Well as soon as they stroke the engine to above 2.0 then they are out of the WRC and out of selling cars (Imprezza).

There are some nice older Toyotas, but without the Celica, MR2 and Supra in the current lineup there isn't much excitement there anymore. Not flaming but what exactly is there in the current Toyota lineup that would satisfy the appeitite of a driving enthusiast?

EDIT: My wife had a '03 Vibe GT two cars ago and it was OK so maybe I could see the Matrix with the 180hp 1.8L/6spd as being fun. Other than that, I can't see myself or anyone else I know of getting excited about a tan Corolla or a maroon Camry. Reliable A-B cars, yes. Fun to drive, no.

i whole heartedly invite all who have bad things to say about 'fun to drive' aspects of camry's to meet me for a drive in mine.

thanks.

oh btw, number 2 quickest car under 25 thousand, nestled between #1, wrx, and #3, Mazdaspeed 3.

that, plus trd springs, 18's and good rubber (the major problem with them being not fun is the tires) = fun

i guess the only way we could stop Japan from taking over the car world would be the exact same thing we did in WWII. It worked last time didn't it?
lol ...that sounds like a good idea actually. hehehe *putsonflamesuit*

The sportiest car Toyota has (which was built to compete with the 350z no less) is the Tacoma X-Runner . Unforunately this is not a joke. I love the sports cars they used to make (my friend's Celica GT-S is one of the most exhilirating cars I've ever driven), but a truck? Toyota better keep it's hands off of Subaru.

I like the Camry SE V6. It's an awesome daily driver, but saying that it's quicker than a Speed3 is beyond ridiculous. It may get to 60 faster than an Si and a GTI, but that's about it. Take it to the track or a twisty road and those two will annihilate the Camry. WRX, Speed3, Si, GTI, Cobalt SS S/C are all cars which are much more fun and are much quicker. Camry was built to be a car which gets people from point A to point B in comfort, nothing more.
