Turbo Manifolds

So what manifolds are available out there? So far all I see is Tom's (which I'm not sure you can purchase by itself) and the other company who use to be a sponsor here. I realize the RS manifold isn't a great alternative from what I have been reading.

Its slim pickings on turbo manifolds. Why not get the starter kit from tom? Might help with the tuning plans because it opens ya up for the MIC?

Otherwise I think the other manifold in question would be fairly restrictive. If only I had a pipe bender

the Graham Goode Racing RS manifold sold in Europe (obviously) is a sweet one. I don't have a link at hand but it is in one of the recent posts about turbo manifolds...maybe from last week or something? Not too long ago I know.

It's a sweet looking manifold but pricey as hell. I think 799 BRITISH POUNDS.

Also, from what I remember on their website, the information they gave didn't really explain much...to me personally at least. Looks sweet nonetheless.

I'm going with either the Vortech or PWR air-to-water intercooler instead of a fmic. Cost is slightly more ($1000 for a complete PWR kit), but well worth the extra cash. So there is no need for any thing else included in Tom's starter kit.

Plus the local guy who is putting together my turbo has the ability to custom tune a few different types of chips. If I lived closer to Tom's shop, I would definately have him tune the car...but seeing that this guy is like 20minutes from my home, it gives me more security to know fine-tuning my setup is just down the street.

From the looks of things, Tom's and JGS log-style manifolds are very similar. The only difference being Tom's is already setup for an external wastegate. I'm also relatively concerned about the JGS manifold since no where on the site does it specify what it is constructed from. I know Tom's is stainless, but is the JGS stainless or made from something less tolerable to heat?

Jgs is made from mild steel which is just fine for a log manifold, however if you want the best at a higher price tom's is the way to go. It's a matter of money and preference.
Either will do you just fine and both have external wastegates pipes available.

I dont believe tom's manifold and jgs are even in the same league. Esspicially his universal log manifold. OMG that is restrictive.

The RS manifold on that site doesnt look like it has a standard flange. you would have to cut that flange off and weld on a T3.

The stock RS manifold is a T2 flange.

Good luck on your quest

as giga said for cost go with JGS(a log style manifold is not as restrictive as you think, oh wait so is toms
) if you have $2200 to plunk down, then go with toms, what turbo are you looking to use? does tom offer different flanges for his starter kit? with JGS you have options for flanges(t3, t25 etc...) just my .02

Not sure what turbo as of yet. Still in the early decision stage, contemplating whether or not I should throw on a ported head now...or wait until I go with a completely new bottom end later on down the road. I'm eyeing Naz's T3 for sale if I decide to ditch the head idea for now.

Most likely, it would be a T3 of some sort. Those seem to be the most usable/tame for street. My car is used mostly for daily driving and auto-x...so it has to be reliable and usable, yet powerful. Hopefully that made sense.
