Unimpressed

I've got to say, i've hit my 10,000 mile mark on my 06 focus and i'm unimpressed.

So far I've taken it back to ford because the Pressure Plate & Clutch Disc went bad. I was worried that they might say it was my driving but they told me it was a mfr flaw. My cruise control crapped out on me and so i had it fixed.

I get the car back and the cruise only works for a week until it goes out again...Now there's a large knocking sound from the engine. Not only that, the Roush decals on the hood are cracking.

Anyone else have **** like this go wrong with their car?

You bought a focus.

Unless you've taken it to the shop at LEAST 3 times, it's not a real focus.

They should put that somewhere in the paperwork when you sign. Like a badge of honor.
 Maybe instead of kill on the side of the car like WWII planes, you have little blue ovals that mean how many times you've taken it to the shop  :what:

Just outta curiousity did they say the conversion was actually done by Roush? Could be someone originally bought a standard zx3 and tryied to do the work themselves. One of the friends in Philly has the 05 roush edition and hasnt had one problem with it. At least since your only at 10k everything should covered under warranty.

Oh it's a real roush. I bought it new with 47 miles on it. I'm glad everything is covered but after my warrenty is up i'm screwed if anything else goes wrong $$$ wise.

The Focus is the most reliable car in it's class. I'm sorry you are having repeated issues like the cruise control. It is NOT normal to have a lot of problems especially at such low mileage.

Well I'm driving an 06 ZX3 Focus with 55xx miles on it and it's been back in the shop a couple of times. First time was to replace some missing pins that held the inside panels around the doorframe down.

The second time was because the dumbass kid next door backed into my quarter panel and dented the **** out of it. Not really a dealer issue but just another period of time without my car.

Third time was just recently when a whole bunch of crap went wrong with it. Just check out the list:

-Loud sounds issuing from front of vehicle at 40+ mph.
-Squeaking coming from rear of vehicle
-Ignition doesn't always start as soon as it should. Takes up to a minute or more at times.
-Passenger seat does not always lock into position.
-The ebrake needed to be readjusted.
-The brakes felt like they were something on a Hyundai Accent (Trust me, that was the last POS I drove)
-Driver door handle sticks.

Big list... :bang:

They replaced the door handle, replaced the wheel bearing, and used an "anti-squeak" kit and some felt on the rear panel to stop the squeaking. They could not verfiy the passenger seat issue or the ignition issue. Which is funny because after I picked up the car I picked up a copy of Lost Planet at the gamestop on my way home and as soon as I got back in the car to go home, I had the ignition problem; second time starting it after I got it back. They said they did the multipoint inspection, but they left my rear right tire underinflated which I had left for them to reinflate, they so lied about the amount of tread I had left, and that leaves me to believe they didn't bother to check the brakes. They did not calibrate the ebrake either. My Ford dealership is in for a  call as soon as I get around to it.

I just hope that by the time my warranty is up all the bugs finally present themselves and get fixed. Good luck man.

THAT ALSO HAPPENS TO MINE! I haven't had the squeak at 40+ mph but i'm having this thumping/whistling sound even at idle

some people have had entire engines replaced, multiple times; its just the way things are.

All of us 2001'ers however; have never had any problems. yep. Never.
I had a 2001 2.0 and a 2003 2.3 - and Brian had his 2002 SVT

Brian's service record looked like a small book, but he also had more modifications than many members on this board.

My 2001 was in the shop for everything from a fuel pump replacement (twice) to a headlamp that fell out while I was driving due to a faulty bolt :dunno:

The 2003 Pzev 2.3 was only in twice - once for a clutch plate replacement and once for an issue with the suspension (that was like a month after I bought it) but Jared (croc_tease) who bought my focus just initiated it with the latest - an ignition issue.

FJ-1 Project car: 2000 ZX3 - no problems SOLD
FJ-2 Project car: 2002 SVTF w/JRSC BBK - mileage: 55K+, regularly maintained, no problems except for documented thermostat leak (fixed).
Bragger
