Using all 3 VF motor Mounts

1274 Views 35 Replies 21 Participants Last post by  Broke_Two_Foci
I have the Rear motor mount on my car but I was looking at geting the other two for the side mounts. Does any one have all 3 mounts swaped out and if so how much vibration does it cause and is their realy any gains with the side ones as much as it is with the rear?

I was thinking of doing all three mounts too. Good question mind if a tag along to find out too?
All i have heard about them is that it makes for a very rough car. but i think i recal people throttle response was better.
i heard it wasnt that bad.

i've ridden in disrupter911's car and its plenty normal.
from what I have heard, if you just have one or two, it will be rougher than if you went with all three.
1 isnt bad at all.

2 i hear is the worst.

3 is worse than 1 but better than 2.
I have two and it is not bad at all. When I added the second one, I did not have an increase in vibration over what I had after the first one. I have have tranny, and passenger mounts. Your friends may notice that the car shakes a little, but you will not notice/mind it as much.
I am also guessing this might help put a smidge more to the wheels (?) as you would loose less in engine play?
what about wheel hop?
i have only one and its not that bad,i have the the passenger side and its nice, its not too rough but its does give the car a rougher meaner feel i recomend one
i already have the rear one and now i need a trans mount thinking of buying the vf for there.
I have all 3, 3 is better than 2.

When I first got them it did vibrate quite a bit, but it was only at idle.... that was with Tom's NA tune. After installing the Turbo and having Tom do his custom tune there is no vibration at all.

I believe the custom tune helped to smooth out the engine, and the way it feels when your driving is great.

If you do all 3 go ahead and do a short shifter as well, it make driving so much more enjoyable

I already have the Steeda short shifter and a rear motor mount. They make a Trans Mount?? is that the rear mount?
if you get all 3 like i had you cant really step on the gas hard and really run it like you want to cause the driver side bolt will snap like it did on me, it cant withstand so much torque i had to go back to the stock ones because when you gun it the engine tilts and screws arent flexible so if your gonna want to go to the track i say stick with the stock...its only logical for that bolt to snap
the best case scenario is that you get all three and bump up the idle to 900 rpm.

that takes most of the vibration out of it when sitting at idle.

So your saying that just because it happened once you can't do it?
I stomp on my car all the time, and while I only have bolt-ons on my SVT, it still is quite the beast....
I don't know why you need 2 threads for this topic, but I'll see what I can do. The three mounts make the car vibrate enough that most will not like it. I know I didn't even notice it, but again I came from a cammed V8 stang. The mounts, while it makes it feel more solid, I would not recommend if you want a smooth ride, or have other things you would like to get. These should be a last type thing. I won 2 of mine at FOTB, so it was rather cheap for me.

Wow,
Two threads for the same topic.
I moved the other one here from the Suspension Forum since it's not Suspension-related, and didn't realize you ALSO had another thread here, since cross-posting is a No-No.
Please note this for future reference.

BTW, here's the OTHER thread...

this is the second time it happen and i dont want to deal with it no more they just cant hadle so much torque
Can you find a bolt from ARP if so that would probably be the best bet
