not including the 5.0, the rear end and transmission... how much do you think this kit will cost... do you have to buy the alternator and radiator too? theres a couple things that dont seem necessary for the installation... im planning on finishing this b4 i finish college, and if theres anyone out there who has done it and has any input please let me know

ive got a good job valet parking...

but i figure i can sell the parts that i take off... and sell all the things that ive bought so far... i have a set of heads and an intake upper/lower for a 5.0, so all i really need is the block and i can buy a rebuild kit and an oil pan... or i could sell my 02 zx3 and buy an '00 cuz all i really need is the chassis... and i have all summer to work full time, and i may join the marines for some extra cash... ill need some new wheels too wont i...

Well how did they do the miata V8 swap for grassroots motorsports $2003 challenge so cheap? If you could do it on the cheap for a focus it would be awsome....but I would try to swap in a indipendent rear end.

Ive seen the cost of this conversion set at about 10-12 grand.....Yes ten thousand dollars!!!!!

I'd say why waste your time.....If you wanted a V8, you probally should have bought a mustang or something.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Because the Focus is wrong-wheel drive when it comes to this swap. A lot of parts have to be fabbed to make it fit.

The way I figured it, with buying a wrecked Mustang(to use for the drivetrain), buying the neccesary parts from Kugel, and refab'ing the trans/rearend, then re-building the motor myself, I came out to between $7500-9500.
My original plan was to get all the parts I needed, send the trans and rear end out to get refab'ed, and take my time building the motor.
I talked to a couple of my mecahnics, and we figured we could do the whole job in about 3-4 days.

on the v8 web forum they said the kit is $3450 for the kit, you supply the engin, rear end, tranny, and drivetrain

maybe we could get a group buy going?

My figures came out to be around $6500 if you do the work yourself and get the parts at a resonable price

and you can cover some of that cost with parts you'll be taking out of your car so its really not that bad at all
