I have a svt which has the vct on the intake side, and I just totaled a zx2 which has the vct on the exhaust side. My question is can you remove the vct from the zx2 and put it on the svt and reburn the ecu to accomidate the two vct? Or is this just something that can't be done?? Any help on this will be helpful.

well from my knowlege the VCT on the zx2 isant for performance reasons but for emmision reasons and i dont think you can put the exhaust vct on the SVT motor i might be wrong and i dont see there being any gains in this so

but hey i might be wrong

The VCT on the exhaust cam has a similar effect as the EGR for the Focus. It provides lower emissions at lower RPM's by advancing the exhaust cam timing and then disabling itself at roughly 3k RPM's.

Nevermind the fact, that even if there were performance gains to be had by the VCT on the exhaust side, you don't have the PCM outputting signals to control it, so it would require a completely new ECU.

Just not cost feasible
