i've got a pretty bad coolant leak that i'd like to solve before the weather starts getting cold. i've looked under my car and i dont seem to be able to see a leak anywhere but i have to keep filling up my coolant once a month. any tipes or tricks to find a leak?

One way is to pressurize the system and force water out the leak. A cooling system pressure tester may be expensive, though. Things to look for that may only occur when the system is hot and pressurized (under normal operation) are water pump and coolant tank cap. Hopefully its not the heater core leaking, although you would probably notice coolant inside the car if that was bad.
