I was drving while i had my flu shot. So while i am drving near construction i lose me balance( which has never happened while driving) it's raining outside. Then i hear it a thud i find my self in the middle of a construction zone. i keep hitting cones trying to figure out how to get out so about 9 cones or so later i move over and i see it come on (ck engine) i pull over to the farther most right lane get off the highway and feel a clunk then i look back it's a cone that was stuck under my hood pops out about 4 miles later... i go to my destination look under car i see 2 things wrong. 1. the 02 sensor (I think)which hooks up to the CAT conv. is now hanging off my car...and another problem i pulled a black plastic piece from the passenger side front near the tire...

question 1 how or where do i get a new sensor to plug back into my cat so the ck eng light goes off..2nd where do i find that black plastic peice that was on the car..

fyi. make sure you don't get the shot and are allegergic to it.. i never knew i was allergic to gelatin until now....

Bad Way to start off a weekend....

Now i went back it is my o2 sensor that went bad now i need 1 but i am not going to pay for 105.00 for it either.. </font>

Well, if the O2 sensor is just hanging off, but it back in the bung.
I think the black plastic you speak of is a cover for mostly the crank pulley and other pulleys. Its not essential to have it on, but it keeps the dirt out - or in this case, construction cones.

Re: Went cone dodging on street

Is there anyway you can take a pic of the damage and post it on ImageStation so we can see what you're talking about specifically?
Re: Went cone dodging on street

if you fractured the O2 sensor, without damaging the bung, then just replace the O2 sensor. It might be PITA to get out though if its broken off right at the bung. If the bung itself is broken (doubtful-more likely that the O2 sensor would break before the exhaust pipe would) you will need to replace the cat.
