It was a nice cool AZ night, bout 70* today maybe 65 at the track.

My new best times:

Fastest ET: 15.380
Best R/T of the Night (or ever): .000
Best 60': 2.251
Best MPH: 91.8

The stats:
FocusSport/VF Supercharger, Stage 1 pulley, Air-H20 Aftercooler, FS header, Full cat back, stock flex. BFG Geforce DR's and nothin in the back. Boost is about 7psi. Hp guestimate of 200 from a non-intercooled number of 185, and maybe 180 ftlbs from 165 last time on the dyno.

My main problem was I could only get the right tire to spin in the burnout no matter what I did and I got lots of wheel hop in the burnout.

Keep in mind i havent' been on the Straight and Narrow for about a year, been twistin' it up lately.

Either your car is really, really heavy, or you weren't making anywhere near 200whp last night.

Use the e-brake, start your burnt out, and then turn the wheels from left to right several times.

Yeah, I was just about to say, my car is faster than that with bolt-ons.

It's the track. You guys have to realize that Firebird does not prep their track for Friday night drags and it just rained in Pheonix for the first time in a few months so the track was probably slick. I usually run .5 to .8 sec slower at Firebird on Friday nights compaird to when they prep it for big races.

Track prep will not screw with your MPH though. Not looking at the ET, that doesn't determine power level.

MPH and ET are not seperate from each other and both are dependent on traction. If you don't hook up the entire length of the track you can never reach your full potential. I have seen 400hp subies out there that can't even run in the 12's or over 110 mph. That go out to Speedworld and run 11's over 120 all day long. It is just wierd that way. Especially on nights when there are over 200 street cars running on the track with street tires draging water from the water box all the way down the track. It is fun to run there but it's not a great place to do any kind of test and tune.

Sorry, but it is not the track unless we're talking about a track at 5k feet elevation. There may be a couple mph variance from track to track, but not the 10mph that would be here. That car is not making power, period. You guys don't have anywhere near the horsepower to spin badly enough to lose mph.... your wheelspin will net more mph, not less, assuming you're not nailing the limiter or letting off.

I imagine that with a 60' of 2.25 on a supercharged motor, that traction isn't much of an issue. Something doesn't seem right in the upper RPMs. How were you shifting? Were you taking it easy on the trans?

My SVT ran a faster trap and ET with a slower 60' with just a CAI. Something just seems wrong.

Uh, I was launching at about 2000 and feathering the throttle to ease up on the wheel spin off the line. Keep in mind, the 200 number is a guestimate cus i was at 185 before the intercooler got put in and Randy stated that the G_wagen was around 200 with the same mods as my car so thats what i'm basing that number off of.

I was shifting at 7000 pretty hard and i was getting a little chirp frm the tires on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. i was also having to shift to 4th just after the 1000' marker.

I'm not trying to knock you or the car... drag runs are great tuning tools. It seems like something might be wrong is all. Have you had any recent dyno pulls to look at the powerband?

oh, i thought they had the stg.1 pully on it???
No, they have the Stage 3 pulley on it, 2.25". I also have that pulley but I'm between 10-11 psi. However, I have their head too so that may explain why mine is a little lower. Also, our intercooler is 4x8 and G Wagen has the 4x6 but I don't know if that affects the pressure drop any :dunno:

The Stage 1 without the intercooler should be around 160-170 according to their website but I don't think they've done any testing with the intercooler with the Stage 1 pulley.

i was already at 185/165 before the aftercooler is why i was guessing 200.

and no, i haven't been on a dyno since i put the aftercooler on the car.

Thats strange, my Cougar ran a 15.340 @ 88.8 last fall (Speedworld). I know my car is heavier than yours, plus I only make 170 crank hp stock, and I can't imagine a cat-back and SRI adding THAT much. How badly were you spinning off the line?

Was this done on a DynoJet? Your numbers always seemed a bit high compared to everyone elses with the kit :dunno:. Other than you, I believe Todd Wilson had the highest verified numbers with the Stage 1 (with a stock long block) at about 172 IIRC and that was with a 2000 intake manifold and custom dyno tuning by Randy.

this was done on the same type dyno Randy uses, i believe a DynoJet. My engine is a reman, so it might be slightly over bored.
