Those pics made me actually get out of my chair and walk away from the screen....:(

That is so childish and simply pathetic... I mean, to take another persons car, (a nice car at that) and just carelessly mangle and destroy the body, and flat out lie about the job you're doing, and THEN on top of all that, turn around and charge an additional $480 over original invoice, to simply ruin the car......:bang::thumbdown

Someone please tell me again why we can't have an open hunting season on stupid people...:dunno:

Edit: If nothing else, there needs to be a legally required disclosure that makes a business outline the nature of a given job, the price, and a description of the methods that will be used to do the job. (example: 3M tape vs. freakin' WOOD SCREWS... ect, ect...) Also, I firmly believe that some version of the following phrase should be legally required in this type of business:

"In the event of any unforeseen changes to original job description/agreement, customer shall be contacted and informed of all required changes BEFORE such changes are implemented, and said changes shall be implemented only if customer agrees to all changes in writing.

Furthermore, customer shall be entitled to a monetary refund for services, plus additional compensation for any damage to customers property while in the care/possession of "x" business.

Said monetary settlements shall be determined and enforced by a court of law if such actions are taken without prior disclosure and written authorization by customer.

Seriously, I feel bad for the guy, but what a dumbass. How can you expect a body matched paint job on a full body kit, AND installation for $300?

I mean ya, that should have raised a red flag to the car owner. However, what in the HELLLLLLLL would make you think it's OK to run 2 or 3 inch self tappers right into the unibody?? lololol:bang: :bang:

Actually, no. He signed off on the work saying it was OK... it's now his problem (unless he gets a good lawyer).

From the guy:

"Believe me, I am pretty pissed off. I got the car like that on Saturday night and it is like a nightmare. I'd like to sue, but a lawyer told me that since I already paid the guy and signed off on the work, I can't? Like marques1 mentioned before, I can try to make a civil suit against this guy.

However, another lawyer (my cousin) told me that he knows an investigator at the Bureau of Automotive Repair and he's going to get him to start an investigation on Mike's shop. Worst case scenario: his shop gets closed down. Which is what I hope for since I am not the only one he has screwed over. Since we've gotten the word out on Monday, many have come forward with their experiences with Mike."

That blows.

I am curious on how signing off on the work will affect his case, I don't think that signature really allows them to just weasel out of it, but I am not sure...
It must be legit...because I just had a bumper replaced and hood painted at the body shop....thru insurance...and they specifically told me do not sign over that check to them unless I'm totally satisfied with the work...otherwise I'm on my own. I also did a walk around with the shop and we noted any little defect I had going in.

Looking at those pictures was a nightmare....I do not understand why on earth the guy paid for it, I would have turned on my heels and looked into legal help immmediately....I feel bad for the guy.
