What do you think of this.

I have finaly decided what to get what you guys think of this?

1. H&R coilovers with race spring for the back(F:370~460 lb/in R: 375 ib/in)

2. Eibach Sway bars 22mm front and 25mm back.

3. P-51 shims.

now i have a few questions.

1. should replace the bushing also? and if yes what bushings?

2. if i change the back spring and increase the rate i wont hurt the dampers right?

thanx

I would say only replace the bushings if its going to be a track car. I heard the hard bushings make for a really bumpy, noisy ride.

To my limited suspension knowledge... I would say the dampers will be fine.
Rather than reengineer somebody's kit before you've tried, it I'd simply assemble the H&R coilovers on the car and make changes later if desired.

i have done alot of research. and most of people that have H&R admit the rear spring is a too soft the thing is i dont want to do it twice.
Is this for a track or street car. A little comfort in the ride is good for a street car.
I don't know your experience, so here is what I would suggest to start, a slight modification of your recipie:

1)I don't think the front springs are progressive, as you suggest. Where did you get that info? I wouldn't replace the rear springs yet, and certainly not with 375 pounders. It's possible the rear shocks won't control them well, as it's 50% more than stock. Also, there's more than just going to a higher rate involved. How tall? Are you safe from coil bind? Requires a lot of research here, and I'm not even prepared for it yet. Unless you're a pro, be careful.

2)Try the PSS9 as-is first. See how you like it. If you want more oversteer, put on the 25mm rear Eibach. If you still want more, go for the SPI front bar. This is a better option than swapping springs.

3)I'd love to sell you my shims, but the PSS9 is the only setup I've found that won't take them. They use their own setup completely different from Ford's mounts.

from spring rates in suspension sticky. the H&R race spring is 1.7" drop.

i really want to get H&R i know the PSS9 is better than H&R but the i can get the H&R for $950 which is very good.

i think i just get the H&R coilover with 24mm H&R rear sway then. i leave the stock front sway bar which is 21mm alone. then if i didnt like it i would replace the front with 18 mm sway bar

can i use your shims with H&R coilovers??

thanx.
I don't think the "Race Springs" will work with the coilovers.
Yes, P-51's shims will work w/ the H&R coilovers to the best of my knowledge.
Have you looked at the GAZ coilovers from www.batinc.net with a Great deal on extra springs of varying heights and rates?
See less See more
Wow, I was tired last night. When you wrote H&R, for some reason I thought you were talking PSS9.

My recommendations remain similar, however, in light of the similar spring rates.
