When I'm putting around I shift at 3k 1-2-3-4-5-6. When I'm on it I usually shift around 7k

 

7k? wow isnt that out of the cars powerband?

 

Not in the SVT it isn't. I shift normally between 3000 and 3500. WOT is more like 6800-7000

 

If I remember right, on a stock focus (2001z) it was around 5300

 

ok is just sounds thrashy at around 6600 that's all I'm afraid to bring it up any higher then that.........my cars a 2010.

 

Around 6,500 or so.

When I had it, I shifted at 6200ish

 

On my car? Around 7500-7800. But I have to do it by feel for now since I haven't upgraded my tach.

redline starts at 6800, I've had it blip at 7200 once or twice. I shift at 6K

 

In the SVT, I shift between 7000 and 7400.

 

in my svt i shift a little before i hit 7k

 

I usually **** around 6k when I getting on it, about 4.5k when I cruising around town.

 

A little north of 5000 for the 2008 Duratec 2.0. That's what my butt dyno has told me.

4.5k is close to where the magic stops happening. :thumbup:

 

Depends on the engine you have and the shifting speed you use. You want to shift about 1k over your powerband so youre coming right back in at peak power on the next gear. Its really subjective. Just remember noise doesnt always equal power.

 

6100-6200 for me. But I rarely go above 2500 rpm.

 

there was a table somewhere at some point.
basicly it said rev to limiter for the 1-2 shift, then for rest shift at ~6krpm.
unless u have an SVT, then i would rev to limit every time

But in all seriousness (i think thats a word), in my 03 SVT, under WOT I shift at ~7k but i did try my buddy's '05 2.0l duratec and found a sweetspot between 6000-6200...also helps if you powershift just a bit...hope this helps

The powerband on a Zetec stops at like 5500rpm. After that the horsepower drops off.

I'd say when I'm on it I shift at 6k since above that you aren't really seeing any improvement.


It really drops off though.

 

I try not to take her over 6000.

 

I have less torque than I need, its a rule. Need more Torque? Too bad cause its all the way up at 4500.

 

at wot? or normal throttle?

 

At a pretty nasty entrance to one of the express ways around here, I went from 0-60 WOT. The car felt as if it ran out of steam a little over 4500.

 

Um when it quits pulling? I have no idea as I shift on how the car is pulling. Any other car it is all done by ear.
