it MUST have a place in the back for a spare tire. i don't know if they copme that way or if you make them do it, it MUST also stiffen up the chassis very nicely. i would rather it bolt in so i could take it out if needed but if a weld in is far superior, then i might as well get it welded. where are some good places to look and what should i look at spending and should or can i do it myself. there is no interior in my car so that is not a problem. also, it must be black (lol)

damn! very nice site! what is the better out of weld in or bolt in?

From what I've heard in the past,

A bolted in cage does not provide nearly as much chassis rigidity as a welded cage... Pretty much for safety only.

In the real world, I suppose it would depend on how tight your bolts are, but a welded cage would likely distribute the load better.

how much does it usually cost to weld in a cage?
