what\'s the deal with racing pedals?

why are they vertical? seems to me it'd be a bit difficult to drive like that. saw a new porsche with the pedals set up the same way.

i understand the placement being for left foot brakeing and heal-toe downshifting, but i'm confused about them being vertical. where do you put your feet? i'm sure you dont press them with the toe of your shoe... and i dont know about you guys, but there's no way i could bend my ankle to match the pedals unless my legs were straight out.

Its just he same as I drive now... with my heel on the ground... pushing downward to try and get the foot flat to the floor.

Trust me... its not that big of a deal once you get used to it.

also, i think that is in a car where your sitting basically as if u were sitting on ur ass with feet straight out, almost making your body 90 degrees..for really low cars and such.
