Where to BUY Euro "shaved" rear bumper?

Hey guys

I looked around the forums a LOT and couldn't really find info about the best/cheapest place to find the euro style rear bumper. It's the one that requires a little shaving of factory foam if I recall correctly.

It has the 2 reflectors down low, as well.

This is for my 2006 ZX3.

(Here is the bumper I am talking about)

Crazy stuff, thanks guys.

*I guess that means Steve at Tousley Ford can't order it?

PSS - The picture of the rear euro bumper on the BAT catalog looks like the bottom 1/3rd is black, but it's not a different surface than the rest, right? I want to paint the entire thing to match but it looks like it might have a difference, rough type plastic that isn't meant to be painted on the bottom.

Yes, Steve can't order them. Otherwise all my local boys would be sporting euro bumpers since we live right next to Tousley... LOL

The bumpers can be painted underneath. You just need to sand and prep it like the rest of the bumper.

Oh and for what it's worth it does require quite a bit more than "shaving the foam underneath"

Try removing the foam and the US spec crash bar underneath.

Oh and if you find the euro crash bar, it has a different bolt pattern than the US version.

So if you want a true working rear end crumple zone it will require cutting and welding.

Most folks running that bumper in the US have no rear crash bar.

From what I've heard and read, you can run the US rear rebar, but can't run the foam. The front you can't run the foam, and you can also run the US rebar. But you do need to notch the corners of the rebar in order to get the Euro bumper to fit.

I did the full swap bumper, bar and foam.

On the bar 2 holes lined up and the other two had to be drilled.

If I did it again I would just cut the US rebar and save a boat load of cash.

They won't ship to the US :(

if you guys want i could roll down to the ford dealership and ask how much one would be there cuz i am in germany and theres a dealership like 4 blocks away

#17 ·
Do you have any clue how much shipping would be?

Overseas shipping is going to cost a dime period and the prices at Batinc do reflect the same price you'd pay if you went with an overseas vendor.

ill go tomorrow and check prices on parts someone give me a list of all the parts to check on and ill get prices on each part and then ill go get shipping quotes for each item

shipping will only be bad on bumpers and stuff nothing like grilles or lights

i have to ship all my military gear home and its really not that bad

i bought my euro rear bumper, crash foam, and crash bar for less then 30$ US... but it cost me 200$ just in shipping... but i think 230$ US for a full euro rear was a deal...

deals are out there, but you have to do the leg work to get them

I did it with all the euro parts and it was really simple, Slipster did a great write up for it that I used. Took a little bit of time, nothing major, and the only "hard" things were trimming off the corners a little bit and drilling the new holes for the euro rebar to fit. It really was an easy mod and man it makes the car look SOOOO much better.

It is much easier and probably safer if you were to do it "correctly" and swap the internals. It cost me about 80 bucks more but to have it done right and safely it was worth it.

I actually tried to get the rebar from them and they said they couldn't get it. I got it from ebay.co.uk. It was like $15 us for the bar but $65 us shipping haha. If anyone is interested i can find the seller, he was very helpful and had good prices. Now I did drive up to get the bumper and foam from BAT so I did save on that shipping.

If you could get the guy's seller name that would be awesome :)

Thanks for sharing info guys, I'm trying to learn what I can about the Euro rear before I plunge into the project
