Which transmission do I have?? MTX-75 or IB5? Help please!!

Sorry for the n00b question...I used the search engine, but didn't find anything!

My wife's car is a 2000 ZX3, Zetec, 5 spd. I need to replace the RH axle in the car, but all the parts places are asking which transmission it is: MTX-75 or IB5?

Is there a way to find out from the VIN, or is there a tag on it somewhere? If so, where at?

not sure of that, but I would assume. Check a ford part number for a zx3 then check it for a sedan with the spi engine. If they are the same numbers, well, theres your answer.

Ok, so the 1B5 tranny came on the SPI...the MTX-75 on the ZX3?

mtx75 came mated to the zetec motor, the IB5 came mated to the SPI motor
