I have been reading through the posts here and it seems alot of stock zx3's 5spd's are very incosistent with the times. Some people will run like a 16sec 1/4 stock or even lower
, and some people with mods are running mid 16's
. Im thinking this is mostly because of the driver not the cars, but could someone tell me if i am right, that it is all about the driver or not.

Many things like tempature, altitude, condition of the car, and even the way the cams were indexed out of the factory can be a determing factor. Difrent tracks hook up better letting launch harder. But alot of it does have to do with the driver especially the launch/ shifting.

I would agree with the driver being most of it. But weather conditions and altitude play a huge role in track times. Like trying to run the same times at Atco (close to sea level) and then in Denver (mile high).

as mentioned too, the cam timing is different in every Focus coming out of the factory. Cam gears w/ tuning can possibly change the whole way your car performs.
