Next weekend’s fixture will mark the Pole’s maiden outing at the championship’s traditional opener.

As the 2014 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) embarks on the first round of the season next week, so too will Robert Kubica and Maciej Szczepaniak make their competitive debut behind the wheel of their RK M-Sport World Rally Team Ford Fiesta RS WRC.

Rallying has died a death (In television times) here in the Uk..Still a hardcore section of fans, but I still remember when through the elf & safety concerns and the need to make a quick buck..that fans were charged to watch stages and were herded into sterile viewing areas, that was the start of the "game was up".

I am not familiar with paying to spectate. I do know that large unruly crowds caused special stages to be canceled in several rallies. WRC announced a while back that they plan to stream event coverage on the internet this season.
