I like it minus the rear spoiler.

Tis better to say something incorrect quickly then wait a few minutes for true facts!
That depends on the topic.

AE at least said its their best guess. A paragraph later they also said their spy photographers have caught the Focus RS testing at Nurburgring with the full production front end. One does not resemble the other.

At least its a pretty looking guess. But one doesn't have to go far to see that they are off by a great deal.

I read the article on their website, and I had shared a link, but that link was causing my spy-sweeper program to throw more red flags than an NFL Coach who doesn't understand the sport. Venture there at your own risk. I am not going to share the link. When you are there, search "Ford" under make and then hit the search magnifying glass. You'll see the same blue rendering in one of the article headings. Enjoy.

Did the article offer anything new? The website said the car was supposed to come in at ÂŁ30,000. From what's legible in your photo, the claim that Ford is aiming at ÂŁ27,000 came up. I couldn't make out much on the left page, but I can tell its not the same words that are on AE's website.

I was aiming mainly for the picture, most of whats written will be small talk/here say anyways. I've come to learn to wait for the facts from the horses mouth itself to see what the RS will weigh in at pricing range. I figure depending on what's what, $35k-$45k range easily if you can price it out or what Ford puts on it is what we get period. But Ford may try TRY to make this thing if it actually is AWD, an STI fighter etc.. so pricing could be much lower. I'll just throw that out for some pot stirring and see what happens. So anybodies price guess is as good as mine my biggest gripe will be where availability will be but this could be produced in much larger numbers than before to make it more available on the global market.

I'm thinking if they make it AWD and price it to be an STI competitor, it will absolutely be an extremely limited production run. Without a standard AWD Focus to support it, the AWD system would be bespoke and likely hand built which would make this the second biggest loss leader in Ford's history next to the GT. If it's AWD, and priced properly, it will be above the Golf R in range. I really hope it's AWD, and more so, I hope it's under 40k, because desire or not I will have a hard time justifying it to myself, and more importantly to the Boss of me. Btw, under 40k in Canadian pesos, which would be... Carry the 5, subtract the F you Canada premiums, around 35 US.

Its going to be 50/50 on the AWD and my biggest question is why now? We heard the same rumors before on the MK II that it would be a hybrid drive train. In all honesty do the spy shots, and videos even provide enough evidence to say AWD?

I don't think there is any concrete evidence for anything as of yet. Ford is doing a great job keeping things mum on this RS. I'm looking forward to the rumoured reveal in Detroit! Which may or may not happen...

Ford them selves did say that they would be showing performance vehicles at Detroit this year, and with the Focus RS shown testing; it's a natural assumption to think that the RS will at least be one of the vehicles. The NAIAS starts on the 25th of January, so the wait isn't going to be that bad.

I am a bit surprised that Ford was able to keep so much of the Focus RS under wraps. By now I would have though to see competent guesses as to what the car looks like, but there's next to nothing out there. Ford also didn't show much of it's hand. The only thing relieved is that the upper opening is going to be big, and there are intakes for brake ventilation up front. Other than that, I'm mostly puzzled to how it's going to look.

As for AWD, nothing I have seen shows Ford's intentions either. I am leaning that AWD is just a rumor, and the RS would be FWD. But that's just looking at the testing mules. Now what if Ford wasn't testing the AWD drive train with the RS mules yet? The only thing I know it, the engine sounds nice.

So anyone's guess is as good as mine. It's going to be an interesting reveal.

I think it's going to be a 2016 model, I'd bet late 2016, so there's plenty of time still. If it's shown at Detroit, it'll still be a concept car I think, with the production model to debut later in the year.

That's most likely what's going to happen. I hope its a concept that's close to production like the MKZ's concept and nothing outlandish like a design concept. That way I'm not disappointed when the final production version is shown and released.

Our fuel isn't taxed to the same degree...

Yet.
True, but in a lot of ways, an increased gas tax makes MUCH more sense than mandated fuel economy standards. It is a much more market driven solution...in that it shapes the market. People will actually want fuel efficient cars if gas is expensive.

But that's socialism!

Yeah. Leave it to the US government to pursue the most bass ackwards means for achieving a goal.
