do you need a radio?

Service manual will be no help. It only tells you how to remove it, and has the wiring diagram to it, NOT what's inside. You could take it to a radio repair shop, they'll probably fix it got $100. Or buy one on ebay or the classifieds for probably about $25-$50. I have one (with the cd player) sitting in the garage.

i need 4600N radio troubleshooting information from someone with a service manual. i have a dead unit and cannot bother the wife with my loud alternative tunes. thank you for helping me to bug her again. jeff_hopko2834@yahoo.com

Agreed.

Also, dealers often send the radios out for repairs or have a "specialist" (outside person) work on Ford head units.

it's probably better to get a new aftermarket radio or scan the classifieds/eBay/wreckers for a used one.
