Nope. The Focus was introduced to North America with two engine choices:
- 2.0L SOHC Split-Port Induction (basically the old Escort engine)
- 2.0L DOHC Zetec (former iterations in the Contour/Mystique, and Escort ZX2)
The SPI was available on the LX and SE sedans, and SE wagons. The odd-ball was a Canada/Quebec-only SPI ZX3 model (and that's really rare).
The Zetec was available as an option on the SE (as part of a Sport Group), and standard on the ZX3, ZX5, ZTS, and ZTW.
Hi peeps, new to this forum, and now an owner of a 2000 SE wagon with an SPI....so, tin_maddog....what do you mean by that?
Scorp.
He was joking
In car circles, it's common to joke around with people who have different levels within the same vehicle. I don't think there was any harm in his comments
