Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

Awesome story, and I couldn't think of better people to take over the parts of the project

^ ^ ^ I think that's a Body In White. (Obviously; but those were some very early Focuses. They were SPECIAL.)

So they bought the shell? I thought since its from a salvage company they got a salvage car and stripped it.

Kool either way. Hopefully thats what the car will look like before it receives an engine.

Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

without the rear bumper its not an svt tho lol. i cant see the front im assuming theres no engine of front either. this thread makes me want to go to a junkyard and get me a project lol.

yeah but is it an svt i dont think so lol. i dont care what the masking tape says lol.
It could have been an SVT, but at this point there's nothing left to technically make it any different than a Zx3. But if the VIN is from an SVT then it was and still technically is an SVT.

If it's a true Body In White I don't belive it has a VIN.

Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

Basically a rolling chassis with nothing in it and no VIN that Ford (or other manufacturers) can sell at a discounted price to someone who intends to build a track-only car (typically for competitive events).

Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

So "body in white" is just a random term for it? Like it doesn't have to be any certain color or anything dumb like that?

Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

They don't go through paint, so they are actually white (hence the term). Not sure if its the primer or some sort of sealant. Someone who knows more could help out better, I'm sure.

Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

Hey Guys,

I need some help deciding on a bumper and when to get it. What would be the best front bumper for a track car? You know, airflow to the engine, brakes, and others. Possible aerodynamic issue's and such.

I'm thinking SVT Front because the foglight holes can be used for great brake ducting, or maybe some Euro front that might work better? Where would be the best place to get an SVT front if i can't get a used one from a jetter?

Also i'm trying to just get this car back outside as soon as i can get the front clip back on so should i just take the first zx3 bumper i can find or splurge now and get the right bumper from the beginning?

Thanx!
