I just got a letter saying as of December 31, 2007, the CAA and Sunoco deal is going to end.

There goes my free plus membership for the past few years :(

My car goes goofy with Shell or Esso.

I may have to resort to Petro Canada :(

Sunoco has introduced a new rewards program, but it's of benefit if you use anything above 89 octane.

The only drawback for me using Petro Canada is that it's not that prevalent here in Kitchener-Waterloo. Around me, it's mainly GTO/Sunoco. Guess this means I'll have to fill up more in the GTA.

I just looked at Petro's points: http://retail.petro-canada.ca/en/petropoints/161.aspx

If you join online, then it's 4 to 6 weeks before it gets here. Fine by me...because it'd nudge my CAA bucks enough to cover me one last time.

CAA is now aligned with Husky
I think they have been for a while...at least in Mississauga they were. I remembered filling up once at the one on Dixie Rd & the 401, and they asked for my CAA. From what I gather reading here, you're still fine if there's a Husky retailer in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.

They rewarded me by offering me their Premier membership for only $26.26 more for the year. The big upshot is it gives you a once-a-year 320 km tow. On one of the tows, you can use a two-day loaner/rental. There are some other "concierge" services and a LD card for 1 hour.

I'm only considering it only because of the possible tow. 320 km is pretty good since my Windsor/Waterloo trips are about that much.
