Canadian spec 05 focus hid install

Sup folks...been through the 2 pages in the exterior mods section...had a look at the hid faq and how to sticky thread....can't seem to find a walkthru on how to install an hid kit. Not familiar with the fords....(i drive a mazda...yah yah)

can anyone be nice and point me in teh right direction?

HID in stock housing = it looks like your brights are on no matter what. You will hurt peoples eyes and most of all IN MANY STATES/PROVIDENCES ITS ILLEGAL!

If it's the OP's choice in installing HIDs in stock housings, so be it.

I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of instructions. Your main issue may be with DRLs, in addition to blinding people...

spare me the flack, im more than aware of hid kits and reflector beam housings....been moddn vehicles for quite a few years now....this is for someone else

i guess my main concern is how are the drl's wired in the car? can i just pull a fuse? i ask because its a micropressor in my vehicle...


so input, not flaming appreciated

Well, if it's a 00-04 focus, there should be a how to on how to make your DRL your fogs. And installing a kit is easy. Remove bulb, put new bulb, attach bulb to ballast, attach ballast to supplied harness, attach supplied harness to headlight plug.

The OP has a 2005 Focus.

On the older Focus models, one could always yank the DRL relay (I did that for my HIDs). For the 2005, I can only assume if you just yanked the right fuse per the owner's manual, it could work. Some tried to make their DRLs into the fog lights, but I think that's been an unanswered situation because I recall people saying it couldn't be done anymore.

thanks for the 411 gapboy, without the flame sandwich attached. I am aware of the r13 relay removal/mod...i jus wanted some more personal feedback..which you have supplied,

and its not always as easy as "Remove bulb, put new bulb, attach bulb to ballast, attach ballast to supplied harness, attach supplied harness to headlight plug" kaual for certain vehicles, pending on the wiring etc of the vehicle.
