Did i miss something? I don't see where he blamed the cop for his ticket? He blamed the cop for him losing in court because the cop made a bogus story to win the case.

yeah.cops an *******.end of story lol.not the first time he acts dumb with me.one time as i parked in the highschool parking lot. he sped up to me and asked for my license, i asked why he pulled me over or whatever, and he said "oh because this is a parking lot" lmao

Re: igot a ticket =l

or, you know, slow down and let him pass...
You deserve a prize, sir

Insurance will find out, and the rate may/will go up depending on what his policy is and if he's also got tickets and other points. If your mom knows, why not your dad? Own up to what you've done and tell your dad what happened. I think he'd be more pissed at you finding out after his rates go up and you didn't tell him.

I've actually met TONS of cops that are just out to screw people...it's in their job description actually.

he wasn't speeding, but he saw he was coming way to close to me and he didnt stop, what else was i suppose to do. obviously i sped up, doesnt mean i was speeding on purpose.
Uhh... when officers do that I slow to a CREEP... then i can fight it in court because they were nearly crashing into me.

asses...

You're young and you probably drive not too brightly, for the next few months/years just creep along. They'll get annoyed and leave you alone.

the cop wasnt the one merging...it was a van...the cop was in a gas station

Your insurance may not go up. I have received 2 tickets in my life, 1 for going 12 over in the Focus when I was 16, and 1 for doing 19 over on my motorcycle just a few months ago right after I turned 18. Neither of my insurance policies went up because of it. I may have just been lucky though.

I love these kinds of threads

lmao iagree with 247 i think ill tell him that haha.. oh and only my mom knows because shes the calmer one, she didnt approach me with a steel post when i let her know hahaha. and well ill be paying for whatever the difference if it comes to that.

i got out of a 300 dollar speeding ticket cuz i told the cop i had to get home b4 my parents euthanized my dog. i was doing 84 in a 65 i was in the break down lane b4 he even turned his lights on

Don't speed. It is easier to fight a ticket in court that way.

On another note, I've had my fair share of traffic infractions and not once did my premiums go up. In Cali, they can take away your license with 3 points (speeding ticket is 1 point). I was able to go to traffic school to dismiss the point on a couple of them, so technically, the insurance company didn't know about it. I did however get a ticket and was not able to dismiss the point. My insurance agent called my cell phone and gave me a dad-like heart to heart. He told me basically it was a warning. He then proceeded to tell me "You don't want to get another speeding ticket. Your premiums will sky rocket!" I told him I never wanted to get the first one

You should have just let him pass. You had the option to slow down. And you weren't forced to speed, you chose too. You just didn't want to be behind the van. The time it took you to go from 35 to 46 is way more time than it would have taken you to slow down. It's ok. But use this as a tool to learn from your mistake and don't do it again.

I have been paying for my own auto insurance since I got my first car, so if I got caught speeding; I had to deal with the increase. But really; I cant think of some slick saying, or something particularly insightful from my youth that can help you out. I am only here to dog pile on you allong with the rest of the members.

Brake pedal > Gas pedal in normal driving. Stay safe out there mang.

again....appeal it.

if the cop was lying, call him out on it in appeals court. Its always fun to ask "do you know what the penalty for purgery is?" while he is on the stand.
