I'd like to try every gun, as I did last time, is it better to contribute cash to you guys for ammo used, or is there some popular ammo I can get that would supply all of you guys and offset what I use?
You can pay Nick for the box of 30/30 he picked up for me.

I'll have to check it out. First things first, 12ga ammo this weekend while we're out in Manteca.
Bass Pro? If its Sunday stop on by the house.

Also if your looking into rifles, may I suggest 6mm or 25-06. Great rounds for most things you'll shoot in CA. You can get out to 400 yards easy with those, shoot a deer, pig, or small bear, and still shoot them all day at varmits.

Just got back from the gun show.

I looked for .223/5.56, none to be had at one stand the other one was $600 for 500 rounds. Needless to say, I passed. .

Ended up buying 500 rounds of .40 and 2k of 22LR, they were out of 30-30, 7.62x54R and 8mm Mauser.

I got to the show at 7AM, the doors opened at 9, and I had about 150 people in front of me in line. All of the non shotgun ammo was gone by 10:30, just nuts.

I plan to bring the ammo I want to shoot. I can't afford to buy ammo for other people. You are more than welcome to shoot my guns with your ammo. I won't take cash or lunch this year. Sorry

Good thing I picked the 30/30 I did. I have plenty of 22lr so if anyone wants to plink with my rifle no problem. However if you want to shot the new toy you'll need to bring some .45 ACP.

Nick, update the first post with maybes from Brian and Kyle. Also since we're staying in a hotel, Cory and I are going to bring Geneva and Caleb.

I found a couple of boxes of .45 and .40 last night in Arroyo Grande/SLO. Boxes of 100 are $50-$60, maybe two people can split them up.

You will want at least 50 rounds of each if you want to shoot the handguns. There are only two handguns that will be there that *aren't* one of those calibers.

We will have floor/couch space for sure. Drinking and driving is a big no-no.

I've got 2 couches for one, and a queen airbed that fits two, plus floorspace.

I know Hale has couch space for two-three, more floor space, and possibly additional beds but I'll have him chime in for that.

being non american what do you mean by caravan? As a caravan to me is what you would call a mobile home (able to be towed around)

put me in for floor space if you can nick, I will bring a duvet and pillow with me just for comfort

Gordon, a caravan is a group of motor vehicles that are traveling together.

Speaking of which, Micah, Mike, Alex, and Aaron? who guy going to stop by and pick us up on the way down?

Cory and I decided to take just the SVT. Not really wanting to fuel up two cars and the SVT is much better built for twistys.

Chris, you're taking the SVT down here but you also need to be picked up? You mean just to tag along for the Sac caravan?
