Progress, just waiting for a few parts to show up so I can get it back in the car.

Wow... I take the whole front end off when I do my engine swaps... I've gotten pretty good, last one took 2 hours to tear apart everything and drop the engine/transmission, haha

The slow down on this is waiting for parts, also the first time I've pulled the engine AND trans, don't really see the need to pull the front end off though. Once everything was unhooked it came out really easily.

The last time we did my clutch, it took an hour and 20 minutes from the time we disconnected the battery to the time I drove it off the lift.

I don't have a lift, and it was just me doing it! Plus I used Jacks to drop the engine!
EXCUSES.

Steve, good luck with the repairs. It's always a relief to get under the hood of a Focus in preparation of a massive job only to remember just how easy they are to work on.

"Easy", right. That's why my arms look like hamburger whenever I have to work n the turbo. Seriously though it could be a lot worse.

"Easy" was my '69 Skylark, even with the 455 in it I could have rented out the engine bay to a small family. When I pulled the 455 and swapped the 350 back in it took me two hours start to finish. That was an easy car to work on.

Looks good Steve. What are you guys waiting on?
Couple gaskets, new battery harness and an assistant to help me get the trans off the old one and on to the new one. I could probably do it myself but I've been struggling with a slow healing back injury and just don't want to chance it.

Sure it wasn't Pepsi?
It was Coke, the kid is not a fan of Pepsi.

Well, it runs. $300 111k mile junkyard Zetec, fired right and and sounds really good.

Had my son do as much of the work as possible,

Workbench was a major disaster afterwards,

Your assistant is pretty brave with his footwear choice! I can't do anything without dropping something... :eek:uch: :D

I was working in flip flops a fair bit too, you do learn to move your feet when something falls. My arms took the majority of the abuse though, looks like I was mauled by a big cat or something.

In 90 degrees and 100% humidity? I don't think so, I'd rather look like I was mauled by a big cat.

I changed shirts three times yesterday. That was some miserable heat.

I can't finish a job without leaving my bloody signature on some sharp edged bracket.

It has been stupidly hot up here too, though a complete lack of humidity has us hacking from smoke.
