You're gonna need more than 200 to take a z06, try 300whp -in terms of acceleration.

well.. if you get the JRSC, FC throttle body, FS coolflo, A good cat back (Bosal or Borla) a UDP, some mild cams and cam gears and a FS street header plus Random cat and FS flex pipe..

its possible with the right tuning...

Just wait for the 5.0 liter kit to come out, drop it in and happy hunting.

So you are going to underdrive the JRSC...

Yeah, that'll beat a Z06. Give TurboTom a holler, but you are going to have to pick which venue you want to match/beat him in... can't really get both with a small engined compact (w/o totally transforming it). Straight line, or on a track. I don't see how you can manage both w/o a huge budget.

For track balance your funds amongst tires, suspension, LSD+flywheel, and balance power with response (AC kit seems to be the best compromise for that). But that'll give you a flat torque curve and about 200whp, which is very nice but grossly insufficient to catch a 405hp/400ftlbs RWD Z06 in a straight line (Focus is not that much lighter). Track is all about balance and control, so that'll be the key.

For drag you are going to want to spend most of your budget on the engine and bias your goals to maximum power over other considerations, yank out whatever extra 'fluff' you've got, go with a really stiff suspension, LSD, and some wide front slicks (can keep the stock skinny rear tires).

Or you could just mod to a level that is fun to zip around in, buy an expensive call-girl with the extra money, and use the huge hatch to load in two or three beer kegs and throw a party.

jk

damn, i cant imagine seeing a focus stay with a z06 on the road, just doesnt even seem right, i hate you tom

That is brutal. I drove a zr1 on the freeway, and downshifting at 60mph or so and gunning it is rediculously fast, and the z06 is faster than the zr1. I couldnt imagine being able to keep up with my friends dad's zr1 in my focus if i got that kit. Damn, i want it

oh well, im still gonna have to settle for 200-220whp this summer hopefully, that should be enough for the regular vettes, or at least stay close with em, thats all i want. Im basically out to get the mustangs and camaros on a good day, and civics and acuras daily

those are the best, especially those RSX S owners, who think they are the fastest damn thing out there

hmmm tom's kit at $5200 keep up with Corvette Z06? hmmm.... Tom do you have a payment plan?? I could drop my car off with about $3000 or maybe $3500 and have the rest paid off within a year...

i am trying to get an idea....of both worlds actually...the FI seemed as a plan to quich kill, and a horsepower adder over night (quick, as in speed and timely) I really do want to stay more of a all motor dude...but those darn blower sounds......ohh wee....

I am in undecided territory where probably alot are in. To Be Blown; Or Not To Be Blown, obviously that is the question which occupies the Focus driver's attention...and mine as well.

i guess I will wait for more companies to test their equipment on Focuses near them. So when I test products on mine, no "rods" will be thrown, no oil lines disturbed, and most importantly no dollars wasted.

Oh by the way anyone know where my prozac is hidden?

at drag racing the fr200 lost, no traction, runing on stock tires, with 300hp is stupid. PLus they had that ugly looking, 10 ton body kit on that car, and those rims must have weighed like 50lb a piece, so 13.4 for that car wasnt so bad, with that power, on slicks and none of those body mods is gonna be a great competitor for the z06. Imagine at the drag strip, a zx3 taking out a z06..WWWWOOOOOWWWW
