Mine goes under the knife tomorrow. Can't wait to drive my car with a better functioning clutch. I sure hope it fixes my issues. The TSB is a few months old I think.. sometimes the dealers arent right up to speed on these things like they should be.

Driving my car the way it has been since day 1 made me think thats just how it is.. then I drove my friends GTI 1.8T and realized how bad my car was in comparison.

If it is actually smooth then it will be so hard not to really drive the thing! This shifting issue has made me really hate to drive my car so once the clutch is nicely broken in we may have to have a make up session on a nearby highway.

As i figured their will be done today GUARANTEE is total bull****. It is in pieces and they are waiting on a pilot bearing to come in. Dealers aren't supposed to guarantee anything especially my incompetent dealer. Figures the whole deal would be held up by a $10 part.

Was told car would be done by 2pm today. The dealer called and said the pilot bearing came in at 9am but the car wasn't touched because nobody was free to work on it. The funny thing was he guaranteed me it would be done by noon tomorrow. That would be the third guarantee since the car went in monday. They are 0 for 2 so far. Ford is by far the worst dealer for service. They only work on the cars of the people who are waiting at the dealer. If you drop it off for service they work on it sporadically.

Well i picked it up and everything seems to be fixed. The shifts are ultra smoothe and the clutch action is ultra light. You need to be superman to pull up the parking brake but it's fixed.

Mine is promised to be done by the end of the day.

My service adviser (who we have known at the dealership for several years) said that a younger lady had one with the same issue. She said that she tore something in her shoulder trying to shift with the original clutch. This is a big problem with these cars! But I am glad that Ford is actually stepping up (in my case t least) and fixing the issue.

Well mine is back. So much easier to shift. Though I have been very slow with it too. Nothing over 2500 rpm. But the clutch pedal and shifter are just so effortless to move. Going into first from a stop is not a problem anymore.

Seems like I changed tranny fluid more then my engine oil to try and fix this issue! And here it was a clutch issue all along...

Guys, I'm glad it's been fixed.

Here is a question:
My car is a 2000 model.
The TSB you're talking about is applicable to the 2003-2005 models.
Are those parts fully interchangeable with the older MTX75?

When the car is running, in neutral, and when the clutch pedal is NOT pushed in there is a slightly loud ticking sound coming from the trans. As soon as you push the clutch pedal in, it's gone. The pilot bearing? It will never be right after they had it in pieces. Also when the clutch pedal is almost released and an the end of it's throw there is a slight vibe when on the gas. Just as i release the clutc pedal and go to the gas from a stop there is a slight vibe. I don't know.
