None of the hardcore Evo guys seem to like it, but think it looks pretty cool.

The X will have much rounder edges, but with an aggressive face that's instantly recognizable as the Evo's. The car will envolve mechanically as well, with a new turbo charged inline-4 and a new all-wheel drive system, which will allow the torque to be individually split, for each wheel. We don't know what's in store for the engine exept that it will have MIVEC (Mitsibishi's variable valve and lift system) and be turbocharged. Power should be in the neighborhood of 300 bhp. When the Evo IV, set out early next year, the ten probably won't be out unil about 2007 or later. The price of this exciting 4-door pocket-rocket should stay at about $30,000. Info prvided by Road & Track's Speed issue: Fall 2004 pg. 18.

The only excuse to have an opening that large is if the intercooler is handling twin turbos. It'd better be even faster than it is now to keep people from making fun of that.

Awful and intriguing at the same time.

Yo dude, that ain't the evo X concept drawing. That was just a kid on Neons.Org's idea of what it should look like, he also made one of the neon too...It's not the official one from Mitsubishi, it's just a kid playing with photoshop on this one, you all got fool. I belong to Neons.org and that was posted by him a long time ago.

Here's the Neon version he created

Sorry, IMHO, it looks like he took the EVO concept and jacked it around to look like a neon. The work done the EVO is definitely more finished looking then the chop done to the Neon. The person who changed the front end of the EVO is definitley not the same person who drew the EVO.
