Yeah wish you could build one haha. Atleast know how much pricing is going to be and all the options you can look at.

I am definitely going to try and sway my girlfriend into waiting to buy a car till these babies come out haha.

That is a pretty awesome price, consider that the 2010 focus lists at $16,640- yes they have rebates galore, but still very solid. I am surprised that the 5 door is 1k cheaper than the sedan.

As for the ST, I think it will fall near the competition-
2011 Mazdaspeed3: $23,340
2011 GTI 4-door: $24,270
2011 $25,495

TITANIUM for me! I'll be pre-ordering mine right away. Sucks the hatchback is coming out a bit later--spring, instead of February. I'll have to talk to my salesman about that little hiccup. Can't imagine it will be an issue; it just means I'll have more time to pay down the temporary 07 Focus.

SE Sedan, hope the build and price comes online here soon.

MSRP of a 2001 ZX3 was $12,125.
Power Group option cost $740.
Premium Group cost $1,095.

According to my original window sticker.
Far as I remember the base price didn't change much until 2004 when the Duratec became an option.

Paid $14,450 for mine and the only deal I got was 1.9% financing for 60 months. Bought it January 19 2001. So there wasn't any year end deal or model end deals going on. I don't mind that I didn't get a deal either. Cars been good to me and I can't complain.

for what it is (moving up in the market, remember the festiva has taken over the focus's "old" spot) the price is pretty decent for the base model. I would consider it fair.

Also curious how much the ST will start base (thinking 25kish personally) IF we get it.

North America is getting the ST (per Ford press release on global release). Expect it in the calendar year 2012, based on what's been said since the days leading up to and during the Paris Auto Show.

Gas wasn't under a buck a gallon in 2003, LOL. Like Omni said, the MSRP was never under $10k. In February of 2003, they were clearing out the remaining 2002 stock and you could get a decently equipped ZX3 for $9499. I ended up leaving the dealership in my SVT for $14,235 though :D

That being said, I would say the Focus for $17k is about on-par for a car of that level - I haven't see one though, so who knows what fit & finish is like - it may feel more like a $20k car. However, it is a Ford Focus. If you wait a year & get one with 6k miles on it, you'll be able to pick one up for $13k

Good starting price point.... if you read the options though, it says a "euro suspension" is AVAILABLE, which includes a rear sway bar. So typical of Ford, the lower probably 2 model trims won't have a rear sway bar. Again.

I like the options list though, and those wheels look yummy :)

^ thats one of my many beefs that is going to happen to with this new Focus. You have to get the upper level trims which means no manual transmission and you're screwed on the lower trims because you have to get the upper trims to get anything real descent in the terms of handling and looks.

I was wondering about that. The spec sheet, at least for the hatchback, sure makes it look like you can only get the manual in the base SE. It's not an issue for me, since I have to get the PowerShift version, but it seems like a dumb thing to do. How much more could it possibly cost them to offer a manual in the SEL and Titanium, even if it's special order only?

It doesn't cost them a thing, and it doesn't cost the customer a thing to have it. That's why, you want to get the dollar legitimately from the customer. How do you do that? By restricting all good options to higher trim levels.

I think I'm leaning toward Kona Blue. My wife will probably say, "Why do you want another blue car? Your last two cars were blue cars?" But who cares? My 01 ZX3 was Malibu Blue, and my 05 Mazda3 4-door was Winning Blue. I like those kinds of blues, and Kona Blue looks like it's a bit darker than Winning Blue was.

If you want a Ford Vehicle in the price of the focus 8 years ago today you will need to get a Fiesta as the focus was an entry level vehicle for ford now it's the fiesta. Ford is thinking that people who purchased the focus (first gen.) will upgrade as they are now an older generation and have families or better jobs and can afford the new focus. I plan to acquire a new 2012 focus, I think I may go place a deposit as soon as the dealers are accepting. This is truly the best focus to date in terms of styling and quality.
