am I wrong in saying he is going to fast for the conditions? more importantly the visibility problem, not so much the snow/ice...

I agree. I always take it easy in the winter. When there is even just a little bit of snow on the road, it has the potential to become black ice. We've had a lot of ice up here this winter, a lot more than normal. Of course, it doesn't help that our entire winter has been hovering right around that 20-35F mark, instead of being consistantly below zero for months like it normally is. It just melts during the day, then refreezes at night.

Good moves by the Evo, though.

Might wanna make a *Language* notice up there.... scary vid none the less.

 

I edited the title to include a coarse language notice.

While the skill might be good for the Evo driver, I think he may have been going a bit too fast. Who knows why the other cars were literally stopped. There seems to be more to the story than people just stopped for no reason.

Seeing vids like this make me realize how lucky I've been in my +10 years of commuting in similar weather.

 

Oh I know.. people think they can go 10-15 MPH faster because they have AWD...

 

hah, people around here with 4wd and AWD drive way to slow and overly cautious for conditions usually. Ive almost rearended a few people this year for driving way to slow when there was no need or for coming to a dead stop out of nowhere. The EVO driver may have been going a tad to fast, but the blame goes to the people just sitting there stopped on the highway. He did a god job at avoiding totaling his car by going on the hill like he did.
