Porsche 968 had 3.0 4 cylinder. I am sure that there are larger, but that is the biggest one I can remember right now. Offenhauser Indy four cylinders were pretty big, but that is not a production car motor.
KRP has a four cylinder inline that can displace as much as 3.7 liter or 210 cid. Can be built as a Ford, GM, or Mopar.
Ford part/casting number is M-6010-B180. An aluminum version too but not made by KRP. Number is M-6010-A180.
When built as a GM the part number is 10093306. No official Mopar number but a KRP is the iron version of a Mopar "A-4".
Pretty much any engine displacement you can imagine below a certain point, and somebody, somewhere has done it.
Even among the world of 2.0L power plants, each one from each manufacturer actually has a different displacement down to extra decimal places. The Zetec for example (at least some of them) is 1.988L.
I'd be curious to see what the largest volume sale I4 is... I know Toyota still makes a 2.7L.
There are some diesel I4's that are pretty stout displacement wise. And I don't mean like your VW Wabbit diesel either. I'll have to poke around and see what I can find.
My dad's boat has a 4.0L Mercruiser motor. 4 cylinders. Pretty crazy. Runs pretty good, sounds like a diesel 8, it's really weird.
