For everyone running the AC, how much is the oil and how often do you refill?
Thanks, Kent

You do have to add oil when you first get it (comes dry). Thats why they give you one bottle.

Aerocharger would be the place to get it (since they have the little bottles), but its also commercially available if Jim were to spontaneously get drunk and spend the entire company's money on hookers and cocaine on one weekend (its jet turbine oil apparently).

For those that don't know the metric system, a coke can is around 355cc's. Or a little under 1/3 a cup every 20,000 miles. To buy 15 bottles would be kinda overkill IMO.

Actually, the bottles cost like $500 each, it's made of Kryptonite juice or something. I think this is how they can sell the kit so cheap!

Just kidding!

I'll delete this post in a day or two, just so it doesn't get archived, and we have to answer to it for the next 35 months...

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but does anybody know where I can get a hold of some oil for my aerocharger? I tried calling Aerodyne Dallas and no answer. I guess I could try any of the phone #'s on the aerocharger website. Is Jim at the Batavia, NY location?

Ok, I still havn't heard back from NY. Anybody have any other suggestions? I remember a thread that had the specific type of oil used but I cannot seem to find it. Is it really jet turbine oil? Has anybody researched another source instead of aerodyne? Anyone have an extra bottle they'd be willing to part with?

Well, I just checked the Mobil SHC-630 on the grainger web site. The label on the quart reads "Synthetic Gear and Bearing Oil"

The grainger down the road has a quart in stock and I'm going to go pick it up over lunch.

Today over lunch, I started down the list of phone numbers on the aerocharger web site. I finally got a hold of Corky at the Bell Experimental Group. He said that Mobil SHC-630 is the oil they sell for Aerocharger units. I was so excited to find out that this is the correct oil that I forgot to inquire on the status of Aerocharger.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention that I picked up a quart of Mobil SHC-630 at the local Graingers over lunch for $10.23. At 65CC's per fillup, that works out to $0.70 worth of oil every 20,000 miles. Not bad.
