We got the engine, now we just need to get it in, looking to borrow a cherry picker for a couple of weekends in Newark. Anyone got one?

I don't have one but I would like to. My dad and I muscled up an entire 22r onto an engine stand last weekend. After she gets a freshen up, I will be in the same situation as you.

We know but they aren't exactly cheap and it would be easier if we can hold onto it for the length of the project (a couple weeks at least).

Why do you need the cherry picker for two weeks, don't you want a stand for two weeks and a cherry picker for a day?

I'll see if my friend has one he can spare, someone had to pick it up in Santa Clara if I can swing it.

We have to work evenings, and I don't know how much we can get done at a time... hence the long-term picker.

We don't really need a stand, the new shortblock is assembled... just plug n' play... I'm not even going to take the oil pan off.

Rob is gone for the weekend, so if anything happens, I'm the one.

Oh no... the cherry picker itself was a problem... just that the process of borrowing it was not what I would have preferred to do....

Afterall....

Did you REALLY want me to show up @ the shop @ 8pm on a Saturday night and have you strap your big ass cherry picker into the back of a Ford Ranger that had no power steering, drive it 60 miles away and drop it off in the dead of night?

But I surely appreciate the assist!

Cherry picker for a Focus? Do you have access to a lift? Drop the motor out from the bottom. Its easier.

They're gonna do it in a home garage....

But even as such... you're gonna have to lower it to unbolt the transmission then lift the block out from the top. Not a fun thing to do.
