In the morning when I start my car (or whenever I start my car) while I'm letting it idle down from the surging, I tend to hear a vibrating noise under the hood. I've popped the hood and it's right in the middle of the engine but I can't tell where the noise is coming from exactly. I'll rev the engine and as it's slowing down I'll hear it. After a couple minutes it goes away. Should I be concerned? My thoughts was that it is just the car warming up and the engine parts heating up.

Just wondering if anyone else has this or knows what it is. Thanks in advance!!!

Have you had the heat shield vibration fixed yet? It might be that.

is that something I can do? the nearest SVT dealership is an hour or more away. heh

Yup, I bet its the heat sheild.

Just do a search on "heat shield" and there are a number of pictures explaining how they "fix" this. Just need a regular hose clamp.

There is the link you need to fix it yourself. No need to take it to the dealer and waste your time.

Yeah, it's not even worth taking it in to the dealer. Just take a hose clamp big enough to go around the cat. Just make sure you wait at least an hour before going anywhere near the cat, maybe more.
