Just wondering.....
I used to work at a bike shop in San Diego, and I remember haveing to assebmle over 100 of those bikes. Now that I have a focus, I actually want a Kona.

Where have all of the kona mountain bikes gone?

I still have both the car and bike. The bike's gears have been a pain. Had a new chain put on and gears worked on but it still seems to skip under hard pedaling in the 3/4/5 range of the back gears. Fronts don't cause a problem.

If you have alot of miles on your bike, you should replce the rear cog set at the same time as the schain. They wear together. So the ratio/spacing of the teeth no longer matches the chain. If it's low miles, try this....

put it in the highest gear in the back...(the smallest ring.)
check the cable tension. If there is any slack, there is a barrel adjuster where the cable ousing ends going into the derailuer. Turn it till there is no more slack. Keep playing with it until you can shift from 1st to 2nd and back crisply. If you can get that, then all of the other gears should work.

Our family still has two of them.. We had 2 KONAs at one point but both went off lease (they let us keep the bikes) and would have let us keep the roof rack.. should have because I could still use it now...
