Re: Goldmember: Yes, my car is Gold not Beige

I hope this doesn't mean our install day is called off :(

Or it could just mean we have a lot more work to do

Re: Goldmember: Yes, my car is Gold not Beige

So have you figured out a rough total in damage and labor yet?
Not yet. It's sitting at my buddy's body shop until I get things sorted out. He should be getting me a rough estimate sometime next week.

So the police know who did it? I must have missed that part.

Get em
I called them this morning, and they said that he had been cited for driving with a suspended license, and fleeing the scene of an accident. So I'm assuming that since he has a suspended license, he has no insurance... which doesn't bode well for me unfortunately.

Here's what I would do, get an estimate from your body guy, send a certified letter to the douche-nozzle with not only your contact info but also two options; option 1, small claims court where you will stick him with court costs as well as the estimate, or option 2, he pays the estimate within the next 7 days of receiving the letter to you personally.

My father had a similar situation with an employee of his and offered up a similar deal with one of the employees of his old business. Now he used his legal team to draft the letter but I'm sure you have a lawyer or family in the law side of things

Agree w/kenzx3

A formal demand of payment with a certified receipt of the demand or a 3rd party who is not involved.. Step 1 in the legal process.

A demand for payment template can be found on a google search. I've had to use one.

It is possible to have insurance but I doubt he does. In the event you lose your license and you have insurance and you continue to drive. The insurance company will only cover for the damages to the others property not yours. You can hope.
