Can anyone give me a link to such a table for converting BHP to WHP?
Thanks

in my mind it would be to hard to do that, seeing as different engines lose HP by turning different accessories. now specific to the focus... i couldnt tell you.

The closest approximation is to divide whp by .85 to get approx bhp. The reverse would work for bhp to whp.

This still an approximation but is pretty close for average powered FWD manual trannies.

Different drive layouts will have different parasitic losses and high output will throw the percentages off.

For a fwd stick with 100-200 or so whp it's close enough.

for example 170bhp x .85 = 144.5 whp which is pretty close to what stock SVT foci do.

Usually on forums you'll see the reverse as in somebody dyno's a car and wants to know how it compares to BHP numbers that are published, or 144.5 whp /.85 = 170bhp.

It's not perfect but it's close.

Right, a lot of fwd cars only lose about 15% of their power through drivetrain loss. The focus is very close to that in most things I read.

AWD cars lose more power in general if I remember correctly.

Of course if you are talking about factory ratings, you can get fairly close with .85 X whatever they claim in a lot of cases. Maybe between .8 and .85 with AWD cars. However, many cars today are underrated so even guessing at the power levels wont really give you useable info.
Ex.- S2000, Cobalt SS/TC, Mazdaspeed 3, etc...

also depends on they dyno you are using to get the whp..

based on a dynojet, cameroon is correct though.
