Just as it states, I am doing a last min. repair and need to know if I can let my donor car sit on the ground, w/ tire, w/o a control arm.

Will the shock/strut support it by itself?

I would say no unless you don't care about your strut shaft and/or strut tower/inner fender sheetmetal. You'll be applying loads in directions/amounts that things weren't meant to handle. Time to invest in more jack stands I think.

Have 8.

Car cannot be sitting and 'look' broken.

Car sat down fine and no issues arose whatsoever. :dunno:

It's too bad the swap wasn't even necessary.

Heck, I'd rely on a Jackstand, a cinderblock, a log, a wheel and tire, Anything before I'd let it rest with all of that geometry unhinged.
