To people who think the Focus will dominate against neons and crx's...hit the books. You guys really need to educate yourself before claiming things like that.

I agree a lightly modded crx would easily pull against a lightly modded focus, and you can swap engines in a crx cheaper than most head packages for the focus. The focus is a nice "cheap" car but not the post.

A CRX Si with a built/and or boosted B16 or B18 in it, and proper suspension, would spank a LOT of Foci, don't laugh at those cars--they kick ass, and are one of the reasons the Foci even exists.

I had to register here just to respond to this very post. As the (former) owner of a CRX and also a 03 Focus.. the CRX was no comparison AT ALL to the Focus. The CRX was my husband's and the Focus mine. We could line up next to each other, only for me to watch my husband pull away (fast). This was with a ZC (not even a B16!) engine. All I can say is I can tell you've never drove a (properly) modified CRX.

I beg to differ, my room mate has a 90 Si CRX and he prefers the Focus and he's a hardcore Honda fan. The CRX is just a tad faster as it puts out basically the same at the wheels. I enjoy driving the CRX aswell but there's just something better about the Focus.

But yeah, when it comes to the tracks the CRX will definately be the leader.

Maybe it was just our CRX then.. It was very nicely modified (engine and suspension), I have to say I have never drove a stock CRX (Now we have a stock Civic hatch.. which the Focus would spank any day).

Just wish I would have had a chance to AutoX the Crx.. thinking about Autoxing the Focus (one last chance this year!).

Roadcourse/autox = CRX with mild suspension mods and Focus with mild suspension mods i.e. springs and struts only. The CRX will run a faster time due to its wieght savings. This is assuming the motors are both 160hp and the same driver in both cars
Showcars = CRX been around way longer and there are more crazy/ugly ass kits for it than for the Focus. No one can argue that...just look at all the b.s. for the CRX! BMW lookalikes, 3 custom Ferrari look alike conversions, etc...

and the neon falls in there somewhere but I am not talking about that car right now.

What kind of mods are wedoing to get a 160 HP Zetec Focus?
