man, was it hard! getting everything together in time, working out lots, dealing with my car club, getting trophies and equipment together, not to mention trying to prepare myself for the orchestration that is managing the stuff that happens AT the event!
it was certainly an enlightening experience, luckily i had an experienced person as co-chair who worked behind the scenes and took care of a lot of things (waiver forms, wristbands, tech sheets, etc). but now, i have to be that behind-the-scenes person at our next event as i train another greenhorn event chair!
we had 85 cars, got 5 timed runs and a total of 21 fun runs in and were off the lot and heading home by 7pm! it's hectic but it was a blast!
