Jack the brakes and say an dog/deer ran out infront of you. The only reason they do this is to scare you into a ticket, I don't care what anybody says. If they have to drive 5 feet off your bumper to get your plate, then they have the eyesight of an 80yr old with cataracts.

I had a cop do that to me a long time ago. My buddies were riding with me and a he starts following me around our small town. I finally get fed up and pull over. I get out of my car to ask him why he's following me. He then tells me I have a license plate light out. I walk back to look at it and he tells me to stay. He then lets me go with a verbal warning. We get back to my house and I look and the light works. I was pissed.

The opposite more passive approach works too, just remove your foot from the gas pedal. going the min. speed limit will really work someone up, they will just have to pass if they want to go anywhere:p If you get pulled over just say you where matching your vehicle speed with the proximity of their car to your bumper. so 1 second away = 10MPH. 1 second every 10MPH right?

Police are exempt from a lot of laws while on duty.
Open weapons carry, speeding, blowing through stop signs...etc etc..
the gun carrying is right all the others are wrong. they do those things but they are not allowed unless there lights are on going to a call. i almost got hit gead on by a cop no lights flying thru a stop sign. i was on a main street speed limit 40. hes was coming out a side street speed limit 25. it appeared he was going way over 25 too. i jammed my brakes he did the same and i missed by maybe 2 feet. i gave him a look like you stupid ******* and actually said something along those lines also. he then waved me to go.

cops always break laws i see them speeding with no lights on, turn there lights on to run lights, and all types of moving violations. its agaisnt the law for them to do it. to many other cops and people turn there heads to this and its rediculous.

I remember an old saying.....

"You can't break the law to enforce the law"

Not at all true. At least in Cali.... there is a provision that officers can, while maintaining officer and public safety, do whatever they can to enforce the law.

After all, technically its illegal to fire a gun at someone....

I'll see if I can't find the exact penal code section...

There is actually a strategic order where turning on the lights in answering a call could lead to the escape of a criminal.
It depends on the situtation of the call.

yeah but they also need to keep the public safe. running lights and stop signs with no warning is dangerous as hell. bottom line cops think there above the law and always break it. a cop driving around does not have the right to break any traffic law he wishes.

In CT allot of times they get on your ass if you are in anything but the right hand lane. They pull up to you and wait for you to move right. Allot of people are idiots and freak out and slow down to exactly the speed limit instead of moving over a lane. They then get pulled over for obstructing traffic, or blocking the left hand lane. By CT law you MUST drive as far right on the road as physically possible at all times, except when passing. This applies to all roads too, not just interstate highways.

AS for obeying traffic laws cops MUST follow ALL traffic laws unless there lights or sirens are on, and they are headed to a call. They must obey all other laws, and are legally responsible for following traffic laws. Now Where I live they had a front page feature a wile ago about how cops were involved in about 300 accidents one year in my city and only 2 cops were cited as “at fault” for the crash. About 150 of those crashes were signal vehicle crashes…

Now if that is the worst thing cops did I would be happier…
I actually let my friend drive my car before and we were driving down the highway at night in the middle lane at about 80mph. There was another car in front of us as well. He signaled to move right and started to move over when a car FLEW buy us at what had to be over 100mph in the right hand lane with NO headlights or anything on… He barley even saw it and we though it must be a drunk driver. The car then put on its headlights and cut off the car in front and SLAMMED on the brakes. Both my friend and the other car swerved right into the emergency lane to avoid a 3 car crash at about 80 mph. wile we were all swerving the cop THEN turned on his cop lights…

Another time I was coming up to an intersection where the light was red. Before I even got to it, it turned green so I kept going at the speed limit. There was a cop in the right hand lane that was sitting at the light. I knew he was there so I made DAM sure not to go over the speed limit. The cop then gunned it and pulled into my blind spot so I could not move to the right hand lane, and he just followed me there. Then wile I was driving he turned on his spot light and shined it RIGHT at me and my mirror and blinded me. Wile I was blinded I speed up accidentally by maybe 3 mph and then he turned on his sirens. I pulled over and handed him my license and registration. He then said I was doing 55 or some ridiculous number like that. (speed limit was 40 and I made DAM sure I was going it) He gave me a really bad attitude, so I started grilling him. I asked him HOW he determined my speed since he was fallowing me and he told me he was using his speedo and he had to speed up to 55mph to keep up with me. Responded back to him “really well wouldn’t you have to speed up FASTER than I was going to catch up to me from a stop? I knew you were at the light and I made DAM sure I was not speeding. He told me to get my speedo checked and gave me a “warning.” I demanded he show me his badge and give me his name and badge number. (btw my car is pretty much stock, the only real mod on the outside is it has rims so it wasn’t even because I look like a street racer than he pulled me over)

So, my question still stands....

What happens if you either A) downshift and ebrake it B) slam on the brakes or C) just slow down really fast as your pulling over... and the cop hits you? Who would be at fault?

if he re-ends you, he's at fault i'd suspect since if you rear end another non-officer, your the one who gets in trouble.

but don't make it obvious that you brake checked him or downshifted b/c you are being video tapped and if you brake check him...and he hits you...your at fault hot him

they did that to me once, i was in a merdging lane, and i softy floored it because there was people behind me, you know how it is in ca, but the cop in two lanes over floored it got behind me, and i was just going on the speed limit, and he followed me probley for a half of mile and when i truned he lost intrest

I have been pulled over for doing 80 in a 45. Cop pulled me over chewed me out, I was polite "Yes, sir" and all that jazz. Not nervous in the bit, because I knew I was in the wrong and was going to get a ticket.
I walked away with a warning.

If your not doing anything wrong, you have no need to be nervous.
Havent you watched "COPS" enough to know that?
Police: Why did you run?
Bad guy: I was scared.
Police: Why were you scared.
Bad guy: I didnt do anything, I was just scared

Police search vehicle...find loads of drugs.
Your a freakin Cops son, of course your comfortable around cops. Sorry but most people are nervous because there are so many laws that its almost impossible to not be breaking some small law at any given moment. So the majority of people are freaked out when they get pulled over or get a cops attention.

Yea, but thats once they are in the area of the crime and have a need to "go dark". 60% or more of calls have no need for going in dark. Also even if you need go dark you don't need to have your lights off on surface streets or highways on your way to the scene. Its utter BS and they know it, you can turn on your lights and not have your siren going.

the better ? is is there something we as civilians can do? i hate it i see cops flying down streets not lights or sirens on all the time. one street around here clifton ave. i drive 40mph on the speed limit is 35mph. traffic is usually doing 40mph. ive seen cops no light or sirens fly by traffic at probably more than 60mph. considering how far they get from traffic so fast.

if you get their tags you can report them... though there is no real way to prove anything...

around here the wost thing to do is report one and get them in trouble... theyll hunt you down, litterally (lol, ask a friend of mine from hs... the cop stalked him waiting for him to screw up)

if im being tailgaited... i always drop 5-10mph below the speed limit... that usually makes them back off
